What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They let the site recognise you the next time a page loads — so that your shopping cart is not lost, for example, or so that you stay signed in. They usually contain the name of the website, a storage period and a random number.
Below is every technology we use: its name, who it belongs to, what it does, how long it is kept and whether your consent is required for it.
Managing your choice
On your first visit we show a notice with three equally available options: Accept all, Necessary only and Settings, where you allow analytics and advertising technologies separately. Nothing is pre-ticked — until you choose, the optional technologies are not loaded.
Your choice is remembered for 180 days. You can change it at any time from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads immediately so that the relevant scripts stop running.
Refusing does not restrict your use of the site — browsing, ordering and your account all work normally.
Strictly necessary
These make the basic functions of the site work and therefore do not require consent. Without them the cart, sign-in and form protection would not function. All of them are our own and are not shared with third parties.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
megadeviceltd-session |
Holds your current session — the contents of your cart, the language and your sign-in state. | 4 hours |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Protects forms against forged requests sent from another site. | 4 hours |
cookie_consent |
Remembers your answer to the cookie notice so we do not show it again. | 180 days |
Analytics
Loaded only if you allow them. They show us which pages are viewed and how the site performs, so we can improve it. Provider: Google Ireland Limited.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another by a random number. | up to 400 days |
_ga_<identifier> |
Google Analytics | Holds the visit state for this site's particular measurement property. | up to 400 days |
Advertising
Loaded only if you allow them. They measure our advertising and help show relevant messages on other platforms. Providers: Google Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_fbp |
Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Links your visit to Meta advertising and measures its results. | up to 90 days |
_gcl_au |
Google Ads | Records whether a visit that came from an advert led to an order. | up to 90 days |
test_cookie |
Google (doubleclick.net) | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies at all. | until the browser is closed |
Session and persistent cookies
Regardless of what they do, cookies also differ in how long they stay. Session cookies last only while the browser is open and are deleted when you close it. Persistent cookies remain for the period stated in the tables above, or until you delete them yourself.
Other storage on your device
Besides cookies, a browser can also keep data in what is called local storage (localStorage). We use it in three places, each of them serving a preference of yours — not to show you again something you have already dismissed. These entries are not shared with third parties, but we describe them for completeness.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
popup_banner_[number] |
Remembers that you have already seen a particular pop-up message, so it does not appear on every page load. | until browser data is cleared |
purchase_tracked |
Holds the numbers of your most recent orders so the same order is not counted twice if you reload the page. | until browser data is cleared |
pushDismissed |
Remembers that you have closed the notifications bar. | until browser data is cleared |
External services on particular pages
On some pages we show content or tools from other providers. They load only where they are needed:
- Google Maps — on the pages of our physical stores, so you can find your way there. The map sets no cookies, but when it loads Google receives your IP address and browser data as an independent controller. On product pages the map loads only after an explicit action on your part.
- Speedy, Econt and BOX NOW — when you choose a delivery office or parcel locker during checkout, the courier's own map is loaded.
- DSK Bank — when paying by card; your card details are entered entirely on the bank's page.
- The “Megi” virtual assistant — to answer your question, the text of your message is processed by a Google language model.
These providers may set their own cookies under their own rules, over which we have no control. You can read more about how they process data in their privacy policies.
Deleting or blocking cookies
Besides our own settings, you can manage cookies directly in your browser — view them, delete them, or block them from being set. The settings are usually found here:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
- Safari (macOS): Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Safari (iPhone, iPad): Device Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
Please note that blocking all cookies, including the strictly necessary ones, will break the shopping cart and signing in to an account.
To opt out of Google Analytics measurement you can install the official browser add-on. You can manage your advertising preferences on Meta platforms from your ad settings.
Your rights
In so far as personal data is processed through cookies, you have the rights granted by the General Data Protection Regulation — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent at any time. How to exercise them is described in our Privacy Policy.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission for Personal Data Protection — 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia, Bulgaria, kzld@cpdp.bg, www.cpdp.bg.
