The Evolution Continues: Samsung Galaxy S26 Series vs S25 Series – What's New?

Following the official Galaxy Unpacked event (held on February 25, 2026), we can now analyze in detail the innovations that the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series brings to the market. The debut of the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra models is of immense importance for the GSM accessories sector. The reason lies not only in the hardware specifications, but primarily in the changing needs of users regarding device protection and charging.

In this article, we will examine the key differences between the Galaxy S25 and its successor, focusing on the screen, processor, battery, and cameras – the factors that directly dictate the choice of compatible accessories.

Dimensional Changes: Why Won't Old Cases Fit Anymore?

From a retailer's perspective, physical changes in the body are the most important factor, as they determine what cases and protectors need to be stocked. The most significant change in this generation affects the base model – Samsung has increased its dimensions, which automatically makes previous-generation accessories incompatible.

Although screen diagonals are similar, there are clear differences:

  • Display Diagonal:
    • S25 series: 6.2″ (base), 6.7″ (S25+), 6.9″ (S25 Ultra)
    • S26 series: 6.3″ (base), 6.7″ (S26+), 6.9″ (S26 Ultra)
  • Base Model Dimensions:
    • S25: 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm
    • S26: 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2 mm (taller and wider, with maintained thickness)

For the S26+ and S26 Ultra versions, the dimensional changes are minimal, with the Ultra model becoming slightly thinner.

Important for Customers: This change means that the base S26 is physically larger to accommodate the new 6.3-inch screen. Purchasing the new model necessarily requires investing in entirely new, specially designed cases and glasses.

S25 vs S26: What Sets the New Flagships Apart?

The S26 series is not limited to cosmetic size changes. Samsung has upgraded key components that improve the daily user experience. Here are the most important hardware differences:

1. Display – Brilliant Quality and More Security

The models from the Galaxy S26 series are equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays, whose peak brightness reaches an impressive 2600 nits, guaranteeing perfect visibility even under direct sunlight. This brilliant picture requires uncompromising protection.

  • Privacy Display: A new feature in Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra that limits the viewing angle and protects against prying eyes on public transport or venues – a great sales argument for business clients.
  • Gorilla Armor 2: Exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, this glass offers unmatched scratch resistance. The remaining models rely on reinforced premium glasses.

2. Battery – 60W Revolution on the Ultra Model

Charging speed is one of the big news items here. Galaxy S26 Ultra makes a serious leap, transitioning from the previous 45W standard to 60W fast charging.

  • S26 Ultra: 60W
  • S26+: 45W
  • S26 (base): 25W (wired)

3. Storage – 256 GB Becomes the New Standard

Samsung has officially finished with the 128 GB version. The entire S26 series starts with a minimum of 256 GB of internal storage. This is dictated by new AI features and the increasingly frequent creation of heavy multimedia files. Furthermore, while the S25 relied on 12 GB RAM, S26 Ultra now offers an option with an impressive 16 GB RAM – an ideal choice for professionals and streamers.

4. Processors – Two Powerful Hearts

Depending on the market and model, the S26 series uses two chipsets: Exynos 2600 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Ultra model is powered exclusively by Snapdragon. This power turns the phones into mobile work and gaming stations.

5. Cameras – New Design and Intelligent AI

The hardware builds on the previous generation, but AI image processing algorithms (especially in the dark) are significantly improved.

  • S26 Ultra: 200 MP main sensor (f/1.4) + 50 MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.
  • S26 and S26+: 50 MP main + 12 MP ultrawide camera.

The module design has also been updated – S26 now features an elongated, vertical "pill-shaped" camera island. Customers who value photography will certainly need cases with raised edges and specialized lens protectors.
